Count Basie was an incredible figure in 20th century music. His decades of playing helped define the words 'jazz' and 'swing.' His style of piano playing was to-the-point and focused on the blues, relying on simple melodic phrases. It is a great honor to have him on our list of Honorary Royal Counts!

Perhaps the most beloved breakfast cereal pop icon of the last thirty years is the one and only Count Chocula. In late 1971 General Mills began production of Count Chocula, along with his pal FrankenBerry , to compete with other character cereals. Count Chocula is a vampire that loves chocolate rather than blood. Both his design and voice reflect Bela Lugosi.

The Count of Monte Cristo had only two goals in life: to reward those who were kind to him and his aging father, and to punish those responsible for his imprisonment and suffering. For the latter, he planed a slow and painful punishment. He spent fourteen years barely subsisting in a dungeon and once he was free he demanded cruel and prolonged castigation.

A muppet character of Sesame Stree, he is often known as simply "The Count". The Count's main purpose is educating children on simple mathematics, most notably counting. The Count has an obsessive love of counting (arithomania), and will count anything and everything, regardless of size, amount, or how much annoyance he is causing the other muppets. Following a count, the Count always laughs manically and thunder roars overhead. When he sings, the background music resembles gypsy music, no matter what the song.

Please Note: Count Dracula was under consideration because of his cool hair and stylish clothes. However, the Royal Counts have a tradition of donating blood as a condition of membership, and Count Dracula steels his victims blood, so he was a serious conflict. Therefore, Count Dracula is disqualified on general principle.
